Where tonnes of goods would normally be transported along the Rhine, every centimetre of water is currently a critical factor. Low water levels are forcing cargo vessels to significantly reduce their loads and are making some stretches of the river increasingly difficult to navigate. The consequences extend far beyond shipping, affecting the supply chains of numerous companies.
Today we have returned the now cleared office at Steinkopfinsel to the Magdeburg harbor. After 35 years at this location, a little melancholy was involved.
Our woman on site, Jacqueline Becker says, however: "Where one door closes, another one opens." Said, done. About 4 km further, we moved into our new domicile on Sarajevo-Ufer. It is a first occupancy after the renovation of an old grain silo into a modern residential and office complex. The unobstructed view of the Elbe immediately appealed to Jacqueline and made the farewell easier. To start at the new location, we met with the entire North-East team there, first for a working meeting, and then we will still celebrate a little.
