After another
challenging year that demanded a great deal from all of us, this quote from
Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen is more topical than ever before.
We hope that you can use this Christmas to rest and reflect on the contents of
this message in the company of your loved ones, because it is only together
with our family, friends and business partners that we will succeed in
mastering the challenges we face.
We would like to thank you all for your hard work and cooperation in the year
that is almost over, andwish you and your family a peaceful festive season and
health and happiness in 2022.
We are pleased to announce that Mr Sascha Scharnow
joined us in our Hamburg office as a authorised representative on 1 July 2021.
He may be familiar to many of you, because after training to become a freight forwarding clerk
and completing his national service, he has already spent half of his working
life in and around the inland shipping
sector.
Mr Scharnow can be reached as follows:

“In the inland shipping master plan published in May 2019, the political will was expressed to strengthen transport on waterways and transfer the movement of goods to this means of transport. It is time we strove to effectively relocate bulky and heavy goods onto the waterways and implement this in the transport decisions of the shipping agents.
Final report of the working group “Verlagerung von Großraum- und Schwerlasttransporten (GST) von der Straße auf den Wasserweg und Schiene” (moving bulky and heavy goods transport from the roads to the waterways and rail network)
Final report (8MB)Not accessible.
On 1 March 2021, DTG became a member of the BAV Bundesverband der Altholzaufbereiter und –verwerter | German Waste Wood Association.
… to say thank
you to the old, so that the newcan begin under a lucky star.
After almost 30 years with the company, our “fairy godmother” Rita Hammer, from
the Hamburg office, will retire on 28 February 2021.
Wethank her for her loyalty, for being a keen listener, and for her many good
deeds.
We wish her all the best, health and happiness going forward into this
different, but nethertheless special, phase of life.
Industrial painter Alexander Calvelli, known for
his photorealistic paintings of industry, mining and shipping, was brought to
our attention by a DTG member.
We were so excited by his work and also by him as a human beingperson, that we
have displayed a small selection of his paintings in our administrative office
in Duisburg (see photos below).
These are a great gift idea for special occasions and for special people from
the sector.
If you are interested in one of these, or the artist's many other pictures,
please contact him directly:
